Hey, so I just wanted to make another quick video about the issue of resistance when it comes to manifesting. This is for people who are maybe new to this, or who have slipped back into some older ways of thinking while trying to get something they don’t have.
I mean, this is really the topic—you could make a whole YouTube channel about it—because it’s the thing standing between you and anything you desire realizing itself in your life. It’s just an energetic thing. Resistance is just thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. It’s nothing more than that.
That’s why, when you don’t care about something, it’s so easy for it to just come into your existence. Not caring is pretty much the ultimate form of non-resistance. Not even thinking about something puts nothing energetic between you and receiving that thing—assuming, I think, there is a genuine desire for it, or there’s been a genuine intention for that thing to happen.
So, what I wanted to say about resistance right now—what I was just thinking about while driving over here to the gym, where I’m sitting in my car—is that one thing I think is comforting to think about (but difficult to just relax into) is the idea that the thing you want to happen will happen at the right time.
What I mean by that is: the thing you want to happen will happen when you are ready for it to happen. And you’ll be ready for it to happen when you feel differently about it happening.
I know that’s an annoying thing to hear, I think, but in my opinion, it’s also empowering. Because there are things you can actively do. And I don’t think most people just watch a video and then actually ever do anything about the issue they have going on—which is sad—but you don’t have to do that. You could actually do this.
You can look at the issue critically and rationally and probably rid yourself of a bunch of the garbage—especially the really cheap garbage—about it in a matter of, like, an hour. If you just look at the thing, the part of your life that you’re struggling with. You could just put pen to paper—I don’t know if anybody does that anymore; I still do—and you can write out everything that comes to mind: every judgment, every thought that comes to mind about whatever the thing is that you’re struggling with.
There’s probably going to be a few big sources of resistance to that thing changing or manifesting. If you list all those things out, you can look at each one and spend a little time mulling it over. A lot of the time, you’ll realize that the judgment you have isn’t something you even really agree with anymore. It’s either something someone else told you, or it’s something you used to believe, but now the interim life experience has legitimately changed how you think about it.
You know, sometimes you have these judgments about things, and they just sort of sit on a shelf. Then you have experience, and your perspective has shifted, but you’ve never revisited those ideas. So they’re just kind of sitting there still, creating this blob of feelings or judgments or whatever that you feel as a strange energetic sense of pushing away from the thing that you want.
Just looking at those ideas again makes them turn to dust.
So you can write all this stuff out. Look at it. Some of the things that you have—the thoughts and judgments you have—you’re just going to be able to cross off right now and say, “Uh, wow, that was in there.” Because it just came out when you sort of freely wrote this stuff out. So this idea was in there, but I’m giving it a slight bit of attention, and that’s going to make it just die. Next time I go to write all this stuff out, that thing’s not going to be there anymore—because I got it out, I put it on paper, I looked at it and said, “That’s not true. That’s not part of my mentality anymore. That’s not part of anything energetic going into this issue anymore.”
And just like that, maybe tomorrow you wake up, you feel a little different. This stuff works, and resistance is real. So just by looking at all this stuff, you can rid yourself of some of the garbage.
You may not have even had to do any work or think about anything in order for these things to change—because that’s the beauty of life and the perception of time passing: sometimes things just sort of change for the better, in the direction that you want them to be headed in.
For other things, you can look at your judgments on those things and sort of the feeling that you have about those judgments. Something that you sort of peripherally, subtly—not in the front of your mind—thought of as being a negative… let’s say maybe you look at that with a little critical thought and, putting it in the front of your mind for a second, you say, “That’s something that I’ve been kind of experiencing as a negative idea. I’m not even sure that’s negative anymore. I’m not even sure that deserves any kind of negative emotion attached to it.”
So I have this judgment. I’ve been thinking of it as negative. And my mind’s kind of changed about that. Or now that I’ve given it ten seconds of attention, my perspective on it has shifted a little bit.
Like, for example—most people in this… I’m thinking of money right now; I was thinking of money the whole time I’m thinking of this list. But, you know, most people—there’s a lot of people that are very scared of death, and they think of death as a bad thing. The idea of immortality is enticing. And so maybe one of the negative things they think about is, you know, “Everyone dies.”
Sometimes life experience—like going through the death of something, or just sort of a subtle shift in your philosophy—you can revisit a statement like that. “Everyone dies.” In your mind, that’s a negative statement. You look at that later from a different perspective and you think, “Oh, that’s kind of neutral now. It’s not really a negative thing anymore.”
This idea—you know, just as an example; I don’t even know if that was a good example. Death is a pretty big one for people. So if you shift from being afraid of death to not being afraid of death, that’s pretty big. Or if you shift from viewing death as the bitter end of life or a bad thing, to viewing it as pretty neutral—something that is just sort of a transition from one experience of consciousness to another—which, you know, if you’re in this area, if you’re interested in this type of stuff that my channel’s about, you’re probably going to make that shift at some point. Maybe without even realizing it. Maybe just listening to enough interesting podcasts that you felt like listening to, without any agenda of changing your mind about that—over time you subtly shift and stop feeling so afraid of that, or stop having a judgment on it like it’s a bad thing.
But yet you still have some ideas that are just sitting on the shelf, forming a resistance to some other thing that you want. So when you list all these things out, you look at them—some of them just drop to nothing just by having a light shined on them.
I really feel like I’m articulating this whole video really poorly, but somebody’s picking up what I’m laying down here.
So just to recap: when you’re just sort of stuck, unable to move, really unhappy about something you don’t have—accepting that there is a time for this thing to happen. There is a time. It will happen. It’s not something that you’re destined to not have. It’s not something you’re cursed to not have. It is simply something that you are not tweaked to experience.
That alone, I think, is comforting and lowers resistance. Just accepting that there is a time and circumstance for this thing to manifest. And it’s not necessarily something that’s super far away. If you can do that, that lowers your resistance.
And then, when your hands are tied and there’s not really anything else you can do, actually examining the things that you think and feel and believe about this topic—this area of life that you’re struggling with—can further remove resistance.
You might find that you feel resistant to something; when you look at it, there’s actually nothing there to be resistant to. There’s nothing there for you to be energetically pushing back against. Maybe you just have some small but potent beliefs left that are causing you…
This is the thing with this whole idea that this is some kind of magical thing—it just drives me fucking crazy. And these channels out there acting like this is some kind of fucking wizardry. This is so basic. It’s going to be figured out. In 200 years, human beings like you and me are going to be looking at channels like this and laughing our asses off at how little we knew and how obvious it was. It’s going to be like weather patterns and people believing that those were the gods doing that.
This is not magic or wizardry. This is simply the way things work here. It just drives me crazy.
You are the reason the thing you want is not manifest in your life. The things that are happening are coming through you.
You know, sometimes I wonder—I think some of the mystics of the past didn’t even really understand this. You have to understand, the times that people were living in were so different. Things have changed so much, so fast, that if you were born in this century, you’re pretty much a completely new model of human in terms of what you’ve experienced as your everyday life. You’re even light-years different from me, somebody who was born in the 70s.
So I think some of these ancient mystics—not-so-ancient Neville Goddard, people like that—I think some of them didn’t even necessarily understand how this was working. I think some of this has become so mainstream that once something takes over as mainstream and becomes more normal, then certain things about it reveal themselves quite obviously. And I think this is one of them.
You—the way you are in the world—is completely based on your thoughts and beliefs and all of that. Some of those thoughts and beliefs, and some of the way that you are, I’m sure is influenced by your genetics—actually, a lot of it is probably influenced by your genetics. I don’t have any scientific background in this, but you—just you in your current body with your exact same physical outward appearance—could be two almost entirely unrecognizable people, or two completely different people, depending on what type of mentality is animating you.
People’s affect influences so much. And so much that’s happening, that’s created, is not based on some concrete action that you’re taking or some concrete words that you’re saying. There’s so much going on with you in any given moment of any given day. And it’s creating. It’s creating. It’s like the butterfly effect.
And if this is the first time you’ve ever watched my channel, this is a bad intro video. But also, I made a video recently about how I somehow—this is true, I swear to God—my last cat has reincarnated into a kitten that I found under a bush on Mother’s Day. It is the same cat.
What’s so weird about it is my ex, who also had the cat with me, is around this kitten like every day. And we both—I’ve said this before, sorry if I’m repeating myself here, but I’m making a point that relates to what I just said—this cat and my last cat do not look alike. If you put a picture of them side by side, their faces are different shapes. They don’t look alike if you have a photograph side by side.
But when I see this new kitten, I see the old cat. Like, if I didn’t have pictures of them next to each other, I’d be like, “They look exactly alike.” It’s because the spirit is animating the animal. And that’s what you see.
Somebody’s skin and face and shit like that is a small part of what they look like to the outer world or how they come off to the outer world. And it’s bizarre because you think you’re seeing objectively, and you’re not. You’re not seeing objectively. You’re seeing energy, and you’re seeing a spirit animating a person. You think you know what that person looks like, and you do to some degree, but it’s all of the—it’s like 80% of what makes that person look like that person to you is how they move their face and how they speak and all of that energetic stuff.
This has been clearly illustrated to me through this cat. It’s so crazy. I feel like that was one of the lessons of this cat coming back for me: to understand how little it actually has to do with what you’re seeing in front of you. Sight is completely an illusion. So weird. That’s as far as I’ve been able to take that.
But the whole point I’m trying to make is that as the things that you think and the way that you feel change, the way you come across, the way you present yourself to the world—unknowingly even, most of the time, probably—changes. And it changes what is created by you automatically, just sort of through the butterfly effect. Who knows how any of that ends up playing out, and how far a difference in your appearance in the world ends up influencing things that end up happening to you, and how it influences things that end up seeming to come to you via magic.
Yeah. So it really makes a difference.
If you want to do something, if your hands are tied, you can’t do anything—and especially if you’re just thinking about this thing and feeling resistance towards it constantly—it really helps to actually take the time to look at what you think and feel about this topic and start banging off a bunch of those list items. Like, get rid of them. Pretty much everything that you list is something that probably needs to be shifted in some way.
So that’s something that you can do. And honestly, I’m not sure how many people are ever really that successful without doing that in some form or another. There may be a way—maybe you can just browbeat this thing into submission by forcefully repeating an affirmation or something like that. I don’t know. That seems so fucking boring and annoying to me. The idea of doing that seems so boring and annoying.
There’s nothing at all scary to me about looking at and picking apart my ideas about things, which I think is way more interesting. I don’t know. So that’s why I’m talking about this.
I hope that helps somebody. Have a great day.
